PLEASE NOTE: SOUNDMAGIC FX IS NO LONGER BEING DEVELOPED. IT HAS BEEN REPLACED BY A SUITE OF REAL-TIME AUDIO UNIT PLUGINS FOR MAC OS X CALLED SOUNDMAGIC SPECTRAL

About SoundMagic FX:

SoundMagic FX 1.0.3 is a suite of professional-quality digital signal processes at a shareware price. The package currently contains 27 processes, which are implemented as plug-ins to the SoundMaker 1.0.2 package. SoundMagic was awarded an honourable mention in the First International Sound Software Competition held in Bourges, France. SoundMagic and SoundMaker are being enjoyed the world over as providing a rich, powerful, yet user-friendly tool for the full plethora of sound design and manipulation on the range of Apple Macintosh computers.

NB: SoundMagic FX is incompatible with SoundEffects (the shareware version of SoundMaker). I apologise for any misunderstandings.

About SoundMaker:

SoundMaker 1.0.2 is the commercial version of SoundEffects - long recognised as the most fully-featured shareware sound application available. Now that SoundEffects has gone commercial, we are seeing the emergence of one of the most flexible and powerful applications for processing sound in a variety of ways. For anyone who works in the sound engineering industry, for anyone who writes electroacoustic music, or for anyone who just likes to hear nice sounds coming out of their Mac, this is the software for you. You can find out more about SoundMaker at the Micromat home page. You can find out more about Alberto Ricci, the author of SoundMaker from his home page based in Torino (Turin).

About the author:

Michael Norris was born in Dunedin, New Zealand (here's a piccie) and studied composition at Otago University before moving to Wellington, the capital city (here's another piccie). There he attended at Victoria University of Wellington, studying electroacoustic and instrumental composition, and has graduated with a BMus (Hons). He has recently received a Commonwealth Scholarship to attend City University later this year, to study electroacoustic composition under Denis Smalley. In his spare time (hah!) he fixes SoundMagic bugs.
