A creative deconstruction of the old jazz standard Straight No Chaser that pits the flexibility of the trombone against the rhythmic prowess of unpitched percussion.

Searching throats, a
night orchestra's
soaring the
charts.

Hot tears crashing:
'groan, chatter, hiss'.

A torch-singer's hat, it's a
short-changer tango,
shirt-chaser,
straight-ace horns,
as right as the corn.

This short carnage
hath no
rest.
Cigars, a
shoestring chart
in cargos—that's her,
heart across night.
