definition:

Chunk Munger (n.): a rare and valuable beast found only on serious sound hackers' desktops. It feeds on digital audio, shredding the unfortunate prey into small bite-size pieces, slowly digesting them, then spitting them out in an aesthetically pleasing manner...

parameters:

Chunk Munger has far too many parameters to cover here! It is at once the most powerful, and most frighteningly complex of all the effects to be found in SoundMagic FX...

The Chunk Munger dialog box

To help guide you through making new sounds with Chunk Munger, here is a guide to the interface:

Input Fragment Pane: At the top of the Chunk Munger dialog box is a series of controls specifying the input chunks. At the present stage only Chunks are able to be chosen. You can specify the Chunk Size and Chunk Size Variance, whether the chunks are to be chosen from anywhere within the input sound file, or whether they are to be chosen in a linear fashion, and whether they are to be chosen from any of the inputs or from each input in turn.
Process Panes: There are ten process panes. Each process may be carried out in parallel or series, and this is changed by clicking on the 'S' or 'P' to the left of the process name. The Process Type is changed by selecting a new type from the process popup. The parameters for that specific process may then be entered.
Output Pane: The last pane in the dialog box contains the output parameters: these specify the Hop Size (how far away the next chunk is to be redistributed), and the New Length of the new sound-file.
